Learning Quranic word meanings in engaging way
Ghareeb is an application that presents explanations of unfamiliar (gharib) Quranic vocabulary, suitable for both children and adults. The app provides word meanings through more than 200 short video lessons by Shaykh ‘Abd al-Rahman bin Mu‘adhah al-Shehri, Professor of Quranic Studies at King Saud University. In addition, the meanings of unfamiliar words are also available in written form using a clear and simple style, allowing users to benefit without the need to watch the videos. Ghareeb offers a range of features that make the learning experience more engaging, including: - Assessing users’ memorization and understanding through approximately 6,000 timed questions covering the interpretation of the entire Quran, with a limited number of retries to encourage focus and attentiveness. - Setting multiple daily memorization and assessment goals based on the number of words learned per day (ten words for beginner level, twenty for intermediate level, or thirty for advanced level). - Sending daily notifications to encourage consistent memorization and self-assessment. - Providing a certificate of completion accredited by the Tafsir Center for Quranic Studies upon completing the questions for each juz’.
